Since its area is reducing throughout Africa, there are only a few areas left where you can spot the magnificent cheetah. Because of the small number of animals left, the most practical way to admire them is by visiting a private reserve. So, we decided to stop in one of them, where there was also the possibility to camp.
I still remember the bizarre reception that a giraffe had reserved for us. She was still a puppy playing around, when she saw us, she approached with curiosity. Shortly after, we entered the reserve where the owners told us about life of cheetahs, giving us the magnificent opportunity – with due attention – to pet them.
The feeling of their rough tongue on our hands is something that I will always carry in my heart. We could not believe it, we were petting a cheetah.
The next day, we toured the reserve on our jeep and had the opportunity not only to observe these beautiful felines but also to learn something more about their species.
